sugar cookies

For some reason, mom loved to make sugar cookies for the holidays. We must have decorated them as kids but I don't remember.

• 1 c butter
• 2 eggs
• 1 c sugar
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 3 1/2 c flour
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt

1. Preheat oven to 400.
   
2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Blend in eggs and vanilla.
4. Add combined dry ingredients.
5. Mix well and chill.
6. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with assorted cutters.
7. Place on ungreased sheets and sprinkle with sugar.
8. Bake 6-8 minutes. Bakes 6 dozen.
