dad's scones
- 1 3/4 c all purpose flour
- 4 tbs sugar
- 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 c butter
- 1 c dried cranberries
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4-6 tsp buttermilk
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter.
- Add cranberries.
- Beat in buttermilk.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead lightly 10 minutes.
- Divide dough into 2 parts and roll each into circles about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 4 wedges.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet and brush tops with butter.
- Bake 20 minutes, immediately remove from cookie sheet to cool.
