linda's thin crisp sugar cookies

These are great plain with coffee or tea, or with a chocolate spread across the top.

  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 1/2 c flour
  1. Cream the butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well into the sugar mixture.
  3. Shape into 2 rolls on foil or wax paper.
  4. Chill 1 hour then cut into very thin slices.
  5. Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes (depends on thickness of slices).
